Uhripuu (2017) by the Finnish black metal band Förgjord is widely praised by underground critics as a scabrous, unorthodox, and bewitchingly melodic masterpiece of raw black metal. Released via Werewolf Records, the album stands out for its unique ability to blend a “ripped-raw” soundfield with oddly hummable, melancholic melodies.
